Bruce Lytle, MD is a renowned cardiac surgeon with a clinical career dedicated to adult cardiothoracic surgery, making significant contributions in the areas of coronary bypass surgery, valve repair and replacement, cerebral protection, aortic surgery, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, radiation-induced heart disease, and re-operative cardiac surgery. He graduated with honors from Stanford University and Harvard University Medical School. His general surgery and thoracic surgery training took place at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Dr. Lytle is the chairman of Cardiovascular Strategic Development and Planning for Cardiovascular Medicine and Surgery at The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano. He previously served as chairman of Cleveland Clinic’s Heart and Vascular Institute. During his thirty eight years with Cleveland Clinic, their heart program was ranked first in the nation for an unprecedented twenty years in a row.
